Labor Day Madness Creeps Closer
August features a number of big grand prix events
outside the U.S. Open, including the
Continental
Open in Sturbridge
(August 12-15) and the
Atlantic Open (August 27-29). These two events
precede a host of state championship events on
Labor Day weekend that comprise what the late
Jerry Hanken coined “Labor Day chess madness.”
